The African Caribbean Luncheon Club invites local African, Caribbean and BAME residents to join their monthly lunch club.

The African Caribbean Luncheon Club (ACLC) was founded around 2009 by local residents who wanted to reach out to fellow community members for monthly social gatherings and to share homemade food. From the outset the lunch club has received fantastic support from Dorset Health Care University NHS Foundation Trust with their Diversity Manager kindly volunteering his time to be club member and Treasurer.

We currently order our meals from local family run businesses who supply delicious freshly produced Afro Caribbean & Jamaican street food.

Our members have lived and worked in Dorset for many decades and know what they like when it comes to that special taste of authentic Caribbean & Jamaican food, not forgetting the beats of gentle background rhythms, board games and guest speakers. Club member and committee volunteer Antigua Joe says: “the club is an important part of our culture and the fact we support local businesses who provide delicious authentic food is great for all concerned, I’m really loving the Ackee & Salt Fish, its awesomely Yumptious!”
