On Sunday 29 January the people of BCP along with dignitaries gathered to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day at the Lighthouse in Poole.

The event marked by the Statement of Commitment for HMD, lighting of candles, prayers, poetry and the reading of Martin and Anne – Kindred Spirits: Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. and Anne Frank. Both of these two iconic characters were born on the same day and it is interesting to see how their  lives developed.

The main focus of the event was the powerful and gripping testimony of Lady Milena Grenfell-Baines MBE who spoke about her family history and the Kindertransport.

The event was well received and was reported by BBC South Today.
