Dorset Police Stop & Search Public Scrutiny Panel builds trust and confidence between the police and the community they serve through accountability, transparency, and training.

The panel meet bi-monthly to assess and report on Dorset Police’s use of stop and search to help us improve this important policing power and promote best practice. The panel view real life stop and search interactions taken from officer body-worn video.

Panel members reflect and represent the diverse communities across Dorset. No previous experience or specific skills sets are necessary and anyone in the region is welcome to join the panel as long as they are not holding an active role in policing.
