Dorset Police has launched a recruitment campaign to recruit new detectives onto the Detective Constable Degree Holder’s Entry Programme (DC DHEP)! They hope that this will attract many ethnic minority applications.
These are really exciting roles for anyone who wants to be a police detective, and earn a starting salary of £25,780 rising to £41,130 in 7 years (plus potential additional overtime pay). Detectives deal with the most serious and complex investigations such as murder and other serious violent crime, drug dealing, robbery and fraud, and help protect the community from serious harm.
The main requirements are:
- A degree in any subject including degrees from outside the UK
- Resided in UK for 3 continuous years prior to application, with no restrictions on your stay in the UK (note that having British nationality is therefore NOT a requirement)
- Full European Union, manual driving licence required for appointment (but can apply initially just with just a provisional licence). No previous policing experience or knowledge is needed.
