Dorset Race Equality Council has been a partner in delivering EUSS support to EU citizens in Dorset and as such, we are part of a national Alliance of organisations supporting Europeans with their immigration status. With the current humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, members of the Alliance have agreed to share resources and work together within our scope, to facilitate the arrival and integration of Ukrainians in the UK. Below are two useful links:
Settled has set up a new email advice route for EU citizens with settled/pre-settled status in the UK who have family members from Ukraine that they wish to bring here. It is ukrainefamilyscheme@settled.org.uk
Settled is registered at OISC Level 3 and they can answer emails in English, Ukrainian, Russian or any European language. They have also advertised for an additional Ukrainian-speaking staff member to add to their capacity.
The charity Here for Good has raised funds so that Wilson Solicitors can create a not-for-profit caseworker role for an initial three month period to act for people in need seeking safe haven from Ukraine.
The advice service is now up and running. Further details about the advice and assistance, which is provided free of charge, can be found here: https://www.wilsonllp.co.uk/ukraine-advice-project-with-here-for-good/
Those who require advice can complete a short online form . There is also a free telephone advice line (020 8275 4386) from 10:00-12:00onTuesdaysand Thursdays for those who would prefer to call.
Please do feel free to signpost those looking for advice to them, and to share widely.
