Funded by J.P. MorganCitizens Advice Bournemouth Christchurch & Poole are running a new project called Money Talks.

The aim is to improve the financial resilience, money management skills and general well-being of clients across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole by offering assistance to people who are worried about their finances, or want help to understand their options and plan for the future.

Money Talks will provide support delivered though various channels and offer coaching and guidance with basic digital skills and the use of financial technology.

The project will target those going through:

Significant change in income
Unemployment/Employment changes
Short or Long-Term illness
Relationship/Family changes
It is our aim to help local people to manage their daily finances, withstand unexpected emergencies, access specialist support where needed, develop positive habits, enhance their knowledge and skills, change established behaviors and meet their long term financial goals.

How it works:
Money Talks appointments can be made directly via the referral form on the Money Talks page on the Citizens advice BCP website or by contacting us by telephone or email, details of which are listed below.

Initial meetings with our clients will last one to two hours in one of our local outreaches. Further appointments will then be arranged, if required. These can be either face to face or over the phone.

Team Update:
The Money Talks team consists of:
Dicky Bedford – Money Talks Guide
Matthew Chappell – Money Talks Guide
Stuart Davis – Money Talks Administrator
Kirsty Pemberton – Money Talks Project Co-ordinator

After spending time preparing the project, it is now up and running and we have started seeing clients. This project is based on a similar successful one piloted by Citizens Advice in Wales.
