Advocacy Worker – 20 hours per week
Location: Citizens Advice, Dorchester
Salary: £13.30 per hour

A bit about us:
Kushti Bok, is a Gypsy & Traveller led organisation; we support Gypsies and Travellers in Dorset to gain greater control over their lives and have influence on the decisions that affect them and we campaign to end discrimination that Gypsies and Travellers experience every day.
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced advocacy worker who can provide support and advice to Gypsies and Travellers in the Dorset area.
We are looking for a person who is passionate about the rights of seldom heard communities such as Gypsies and Travellers and who will champion their rights and challenge on their behalf.
About You:
We are looking for a highly organised and self-motivated person who will be responsible for providing a pro-active service to Gypsies and Travellers; providing advice and support and representing clients to statutory agencies and service providers as and when required.
We need a person who is resilient, approachable, patient, and diplomatic, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, listening and negotiation skills and be used to liaising with key stakeholders at a variety of levels.
A working knowledge of ICT and Microsoft Office is essential.
This position is subject to DBS and Eligibility to Work checks.
The role will be based in Dorchester but involves regular travel within the Dorset Council area, so access to own transport is essential.
