The Rotary Club of Westbourne is offering donations to small Bournemouth Groups.

In a pilot, four shortlisted groups will be offered the chance to make a ‘Dragons Den’ type, five minute, presentation to members of the Club, at their breakfast meeting on Thursday 21st March, 2019 for all or part of a pot of £500.

To be eligible the community group or charity must be a Bournemouth based group serving Bournemouth people. They should be managed and run by volunteers only without any paid staff.

The application is very simple and details of how to apply can be found on their website www.westbournerotary.org.uk the deadline for applications is Thursday 14th February 2019.

Organisations must be able to supply accounts and a constitution (unless they are a registered charity). Applicants can apply for running costs, project costs or for equipment.

The Club President Cheryl Buckler said “Most of our funding goes to larger charities that have paid staff with the time to engage with us, we would like to see some money going to grassroots groups where a small amount of money can make a real difference, if the pilot is successful we would hope to make the programme a regular feature”
