Dorset Race Equality Council (Dorset REC) is looking for a new dynamic and committed Chairperson to lead the organisation, board of trustees and staff team.
The Chairperson will be at the heart of local efforts to challenge racial and religious discrimination in all its forms, working with the diverse communities of Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and Dorset and with the agencies supporting them.
Dorset REC is a small charity covering pan-Dorset whose Chief Executive and staff work to combat racism through casework, education, community engagement and challenge. It is managed by a Board of Trustees. The time commitment is for the equivalent of, on average, two days a month, spread across formal and informal meetings, reading and other preparation and working closely with the Chief Executive. The Chairperson’s role is unpaid but expenses are reimbursed.
For further information contact Cllr. Pauline Batstone, Current Chairman, cllr.p.batstone@btinternet.com or 01258 472583, or Nathalie Sherring, Chief Executive of DREC, nathalie.sherring@dorsetrec.org.uk, or 01202 392954.”
