Dear Partners and Community Leads

We recognise the hurt and pain you, your families and communities may be feeling during the ongoing tension across the country. We wanted  to reassure you that Dorset and Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service (DWFRS) are continuing to monitor the situation, working closely with our partners to prepare for any potential incident which could impact our area. Alongside preparing for any emergency response that may be needed, all of our departments are working to reassure and support our communities, especially in places where protests are likely.

This is a very dynamic situation, so we are asking everyone to remain vigilant over the coming days. Your safety is our absolute priority, please visit dwfire.org.uk for fire safety advice both at home and in the workplace. If you have any concerns and would like to speak to one of our Prevention Team administrators, please contact us on 0800 038 2323.  Similarly, if there is anything further you need from us, please let us know.

However, if you are in immediate danger, you should always call 999.

Our website has information in many languages, and if anyone in your community would prefer the information provided in this way they can visit https://www.dwfire.org.uk/safety/home-safety-other-languages/

Police and other partner services are actively monitoring the situation across the country and regularly assessing risks and threats and responding appropriately. Please monitor official social media channels of the police forces and government bodies for accurate and up to date information to support your assessments and decision making.  Please contact us if you think we can support you further with this. With significant disinformation circulating, it’s important to check sources of information and rely only on official or other trusted channels of communication avoiding speculation or rumours.

Please be assured that we consider the safety of our communities to be our highest priority. We are here to support you, if you need further safety advice, please reach out to us on 0800 038 2323.

Yours faithfully
