Part-time – 1 year fixed term contract; 22.5 hours per week

Hybrid Working

Salary: £26,500 pro rata

Holiday entitlement: 25 days/year pro rata

Dorset Race Equality Council (Dorset REC) is an independent race equality body in Dorset. One of its aims is to support individuals who feel they have been discriminated against because of their race or their religion.

Dorset Race Equality Council is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Community Development Officer to join their team, within a dynamic and exciting partnership.  You will be working with the “FLAVOURS – a taste of Dorset’s outstanding landscape” Project: a partnership of organisations led by the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, facilitating access to landscape heritage by people from minority ethnic backgrounds. The work is mainly funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

You will need to demonstrate the ability and experience of working with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and you will have an understanding of partnership working.

You will also need to have a good understanding of the key principles to community development work, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.

You will need to demonstrate the ability to travel throughout Dorset and to work evenings and weekends occasionally.
