The Ivory Bangle Lady is a high-status North African who died in York in the 4th century AD. Her skeleton found York in 1901 with bracelets, pendants, earrings, beads and a glass jug were found in her burial site.
She lived in the Roman Empire, possibly was a business owner or was a part of a wealthy family judging from the finds. It is just one of many people of African origins that came to Britain. Other examples are e.g. Beachy Head Lady.
