Unfortunately the Coronavirus pandemic has led to the scammers being opportunist. There are a few scams circulating, so please be aware of this.

If your children are eligible for free school meals, you will be contacted by your school to let you know how to access food for them if they are not attending. Do not be duped by texts or emails asking you to provide your bank account details More information about the scheme is available on the government website here. If you have not been contacted by the school, then contact them direct.

A scammer has already been prosecuted for selling COVID-19 treatment kits which contained harmful chemicals. Treatment, prevention or testing kits are not available on the open market or on-line, so refer any offer of such items to the authorities.
