Dorset Race Equality Council (DREC) is seeking to fill the post of Chief Executive Officer on a permanent basis. Salary starting from £34,538.
DREC is working to challenge racism across Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole to achieve a more integrated society. We wish to appoint a permanent Chief Executive Officer to move us forward in this exciting and growing area. The successful candidate will work with the Board and staff group to reach out to the diverse population of Dorset, to implement the Equalities Act, address hate crime and promote new initiatives with public bodies and minority ethnic communities. The CEO’s role is to implement the strategic direction set by the Board but also to ensure the organisation operates as effectively and efficiently as it can within its limited resources. The CEO will lead on fund raising, communication and ensuring the organisation meets the targets set by its funders.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a community care officer to join the Dorset Syrian Resettlement Programme. The role will focus on providing support to refugee families arriving in Dorset through the programme. The position will be ideal for someone who is dynamic and is able to work with families and individuals as part of a wider support network.
Fluency in English and Arabic is essential for the role, as is a commitment to the successful resettlement of Syrian refugee families. We are looking for candidates who are passionate, with a commitment to improve the lives of refugees living in Dorset. More details here
Citizens Advice Bournemouth and Citizens Advice Poole will be merging as an organisation as of the 1st October 2017 and one of the aims of the new organisation is to provide more face-to-face services within key communities across the conurbation. As a result Citizens Advice Bournemouth is currently recruiting an outreach worker to cover the conurbation of Bournemouth and Poole.
