Ethnic minorities taking up all of our housing?
Research commissioned by Dorset and Poole Strategic Housing Group clearly counter the claim that Minority Ethnic people are given preference in social housing! This socially divisive claim is shown to be a myth. For example:
  • Less than just 1% across the whole sample indicated that they were living in Council property - the Minority Ethnic population is estimated to be around 6% for the County and around 7% for Poole.
  • Only 3% were renting a Housing Association property.
