REPORT A RACIST INCIDENT
|
|
|
It is simplest to
phone 01202
553003 and speak with our office manager. If you prefer you can
download a report form by clicking here.
When you do this a window will appear giving you the options to choose
to save the form for later (remember where you put it) or to open it
and
fill it in immediately. You can either send it back to us as an email
attachment or mail it (both addresses are on the form). If you mail the
form, please, sign and date it. We will never share anything you tell
us
with anyone else without your written permission but we like to be
professional right from the start. If the incident you are reporting
develops and becomes more serious a signed form is better than one that
is not. However, do not be put off by any of the above. We want to hear
from you form or no form. We will advise you as to what you need to do.
If you have suffered a racial incident get in touch. No one
needs
to suffer in silence.
You might also wish to do the following:
- Keep notes
of what happened, including dates; times; names and so on, in a diary
if possible.
- If there
were witnesses to
the incident ask them to write down what they saw (get them to sign and
date what they write). If possible, make a note of their name and
address.
- Save any
written material to do
with the incident. For example, someone might have sent you an abusive
written note or pinned it on a notice board or sent an email
or
whatever - save it (you can always forward emails to our office (see
form for address). Bits of written material that you might think is of
no significance might yield valuable evidence if legal action results
from the incident you are reporting. Let a lawyer decide on the
important of individual items of evidence.
The main rule however is get in touch. Don't suffer in
silence, we are here to help and support you. |
