DORSET RACE EQUALITY COUNCIL
MIGRANT WORKER SUPPORT PROJECT
Bournemouth and Poole Local Strategic Partnerships together with Dorset REC have been funded by the government to run a Migrant Worker Support Project. The aim of the project is to increase awareness of the needs of migrant workers and help with the effective integration of migrants into the local communities. This will include offering free English classes for migrant workers living in Bournemouth and Poole and offering them help in accessing local services.  We can also help individuals experiencing discrimination of any sort.

Another aim of the project is to help migrant communities set up cultural groups and have a voice in shaping the future of Bournemouth and Poole. It is important that newer communities have a real say in how local services including schools, health, housing, transport and recreational facilities are provided.  There will be some funding available for communities that want to setup cultural groups.
