This
is an occassional item focusing on BME individuals who have
been
successful in the local job market. People who have made a positive
contribution to Dorset's welfare, culture, life and enterprise. We
start with Christopher Kelu.
Chris previously worked with the
Dorset Training and Enterprise Council and Business Link. He is an
Equality and Diversity Champion for Bournemouth Borough Council. He is
one of the Reporting Officers for racist and homophobic incidents, and
is the main contact for BME businesses at Bournemouth Borough Council,
in his role as Senior Economic Development Officer. Christopher holds a
number of qualifications related to various strands of diversity,
including a Certificate in Diversity; Chris is a member of Dorset Race
Equality Council’s Business Development task group. He is also a former
Chair of the REC and steered it with great skill at a time of
difficulty. Chris is a member of a number of working groups for
Bournemouth Council, including Race, Disability and Sexual orientation.
Chris also works in a voluntary basis with The Princes Trust, as a
panel member.
Chris really does believe that if we were all more humble, the world
would be a far better place!
